Whatever’s this? How did February come round so quickly?
Yet like us, you’ll probably have heaved a sigh of relief when you said ‘goodbye’ to January, with the weather we've seen!
February not only includes Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year (16th February), it also encompasses Half Term. Riviera Guesthouse has a rescue remedy to help soothe away the stress of school-free time!
Here are a few suggestions from us to help keep everyone entertained this half term …
Been inspired by the recent Super Moon? Then you’ll love the Dark Skies Festival, taking place on the North York Moors National Park, 9th to 25th February. See stars, galaxies and planets in all their glory!
Whitby’s spectacular Abbey includes fun for the kids at the Children’s Activity Centre, from 10th to 18th February. This remarkable ruin will form the backdrop to half term stories about highwaymen, hangmen and other grisly punishments!
The world-famous Captain Cook Memorial Museum re-opens on Saturday 10th February with a special exhibition, ‘Whitby in the Time of Cook’. As one of our greatest explorers, our beautiful town inspired Captain Cook, and you can find out how at the special attraction.
So it’s February and therefore it’s the third annual Steampunk Weekend here in Whitby. This world famous gathering features at the Whitby Pavilion and has to be seen to be believed. It really is incredible! Event takes place Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February. And if you’re visiting us at any time during 2018, see our fabulous “What’s On” page for events taking place throughout the year.
